After a long career in the media business, I retired and became a full-time gardener in May 2022. While I am spontaneous, I didn't do this on a whim. I'd been gardening intensely for 20+ years and the time was right to make this career change. Think of me as an old fashioned gardener with a modern perspective shaped by an ethic to work with, not against, nature and the realities of climate change. Over the years, I have developed a deep love of plants and the magic they can create in a garden. Thanks to much study and field work, I've become fascinated with the micro-organisms in the soil beneath our feet (billions per teaspoon!), the trees high above, and the role our gardens can play in creating visual beauty and in supporting natural cycles. It's amazing!
