Japanese Garden

During the summers of 2024 and 2025, I worked on one of the most beautiful properties on the southern Maine coast. My work here included renovating a large seaside garden designed by Japanese gardener Masahiko “Masa” Seko. Much of this work involved pruning evergreen shrubs - mugo pines, junipers, and cypress, mostly. These shrubs had been neglected for many years, and once I completed the work, the gardens took on a bonsai feel that pleased the clients, and, I hope, reflected, to some degree, Masa’s vision.
